Nancy Nemer

President and Founder

For over 14 years, Nancy Nemer has practiced interior design with the last six specializing in spas for the luxury hotel and resort sector. Using her thorough understanding of the design process and knowledge of how a spa operates, she has contributed to the successful concept creation, planning, interior design and technical specification for spas both domestically and around the globe.

Her environments are conceptually strong and possess a true sense of place which makes her an industry leader in spa brand development that considers not only its country of origin, but also how it integrates into the overall hotel brand positioning. Her innovative concepts have contributed to the success of numerous projects around the world. She is an authority on programming and schematic design, and uses her deep understanding of a spaís public and private spaces to create environments that are operationally sound, visually striking and most importantly, profitable. Her experience spans multiple fields and countries where she has embraced the cultural sensitivities of her global projects. She is also responsible for developing innovative models in spa guest rooms that offer guests a new experience in spa, while increasing room revenues for owners and management companies. Some of her clients include WorldCare Health and Wellness Resort, Dubai; Tiger Woods, Dubai; Miraval Life in Balance; Marriott International, Inc.; Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company LLC; Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts; Host Hotels and Resorts as well as numerous independents.

A native of Canada, Nemer speaks three languages fluently and is conversational in French, which brings a diverse cultural understanding to all of her projects. Because of her work on the Duke Center for Integrative Medicine, she was a featured speaker at the Turning Point Global Spa Industry Conference in the Philippines where she presented her work in planning and designing Integrative Health Centers. Currently, Nemerís company, Red Cashew, is based in the San Diego area where she maintains an office and studio. It is there that she and her well rounded team of professionals with diverse backgrounds and experiences are dedicated to seamlessly intersecting the business of spa with the beauty of design. Nancy also serves on the Advisory Board for Interior Design at the Art Institute of California, San Diego.
